The “Love At First Sight” program is currently a 10 week class where we bring together hands-on instruction in a small group setting. On the very first day children are able to ride! We have seen nervousness turn into immeasurable excitement on the faces of our young students.

Our classes are in three stages, simply put; Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced, each with their own 10 week lesson plan. Each session includes a time of devotion together with discussion time learning about a variety of different topics from safety, haltering and leading, grooming, saddling and bridling to learning about breeds, equestrian careers and horse pedigrees. Our very own, Abigail, is the horse with a pedigree for this study (learn more about her at Our Horses). Then, we ride!

Not only will the students learn how to groom, tack and bridle the horses before they ride them, they will also learn that each horse has it's own personality.  To learn each personality the students are encouraged to choose a different horse each week to ride.

The instructors who volunteer to teach the classes are certified by the State of MA.  We are very blessed to have such great, caring people.

Of course, there are plenty of volunteer opportunities in order to increase our ability to serve our community in this way. How can you help? Please visit the Volunteer Center for more information.
